we know that google chrome has belonged to Google LLC, but the thing is google search engine not belongs to google chrome you think that I am crazy google chrome that servers the different functions Google Chrome is a web browser, that was developed as a separate project by Google, to browse the Internet. Google is a search engine, that allows you to search the Internet for websites, and offers various services.
Being a browser it can open your local HTML/image/flash files which obviously the Google search engine or site cannot. 
Google search engine is used to fetch the search site from the CDN(content delivery network) and displayed to the user
